Okay if I’m being honest… it’s me. Hi! I’m the one that doesn’t love shopping.

UNLESS I’m going to one of my favorite local shops!

So what better time to share some of our forever favorites with you!

Here in CoMO, we have a TON of great local places to shop. These are just a few of our forever favorites that have become our go-to’s over the last 10 years.

The Tin Roof Monogram & Gift

This a locally owned gift boutique built from big dreams and lots of love, and it shows! Nicole and her team provide the BEST customer service! They can help you find exactly what you’re looking for and share ideas with you without being pushy and overbearing. (love that!)

It’s a pretty large shop with lots of gift options ranging from home decor, baby + kids items, girlfriend gifts, self care items, mens gifts and more!

TOWNIE TIP: They gift wrap for free and they do a dang good job at it!

When I’m in the mood to treat myself or if I need a gift for someone else, this is typically one of the first places I stop at. They have the BEST hostess gifts. And they always have fun seasonal items too!

TOWNIE TIP: They can personalize outside items! I took them items for our wedding and we recently took them something to have personalized for one of our nephews. It’s a super simple process and very fairly priced!

Plume

Another place I’m going when I want to treat myself or need a gift for someone! (convenient because Plume and The Tin Roof are only a couple minutes away from one another!) Something else that I head straight to Plume for? Home decor. Soooo much of our home decor is stuff that I’ve found at Plume!

One of my favorite things about Plume is that they’re home to over 90 other local artists & vendors! (It’s like I’m supporting local twice when I shop here!) They have a big variety of items so you can find something for everyone! Some of what you'll find at Plume includes baby & wedding gifts, handmade & vintage jewelry and accessories, handmade creams, soaps & scrubs, handcrafted & upcycled furniture and decor...and lots of vintage nostalgia mixed in.

Something that’s super unique about Plume? They’re home to the Plume Bake Shoppe! This is where they bake their famous, made-from-scratch cupcakes. If you know me, you probably know I’m not a big sweets person. But these are delicious!!! They’re also home to GOPO, Mid Missouri's Only local Gourmet Popcorn Company, MacKenzie's Blakery Macarons & Cocoa Bombs and Wishflour Bakery Cookies.

So basically if you want to treat yourself (literally) - Plume is your place!

TOWNIE TIP: Stop by for a visit the week of your birthday! They put your name on their birthday board, have a super cute, vintage barber chair you can sit in for a fun picture and you get a free cupcake to celebrate! (see the pictures on the right side of the graphic below)

Coming Home

When I’m looking for something unique, this is where I go! Coming Home is a unique home goods shop filled with the things you love best about coming home. And it truly feels like being at home when you shop here.

They focus on eco-friendly and sustainable items - many of which are made locally and by smaller vendors! The items and the shop both make you feel like you’re at home and give that feeling of nostalgia. I highly recommend stopping by and checking it out!

TOWNIE TIP: They’re typically open Wednesday - Saturday, 10 AM - 3 PM but you can usually stop by to visit in the evening during First Fridays in The District!
