Here are some local events we’re looking forward to this month:

Red, White, & Blues at Rose Park // Sunday, July 2nd

Rose Music Hall Presents Red, White, & Blues ft. The Daves, Fox Deluxe, & Buddha Blue. Doors open at 6:30 PM and the show begins at 7:30 PM at Rose Park (Outside Rose Music Hall) Tickets are $8 in advance and $10 the day of the show. All ages welcome!

Columbia’s 71st Annual Fire in the Sky // Tuesday, July 4th

Join in the fun this 4th of July to celebrate Independence Day at Stephens Lake Park! The festivities will kick off at 6:30 PM with kids activities, food trucks and live music at the Amphitheater. Fireworks will cap off the night with a display starting at about 9:15 PM. The show will be set to music simulcast on KBXR 102.3! 2nd Saturday for Kids! // Saturday, July 8th

Come and have fun creating! Children of all ages welcome. Just come to Orr Street Studios and be ready to have fun and express your creativity.

Christmas in July at The Tin Roof Monogram & Gift // Monday, July 10th - Saturday, July 15th

Join our friends at The Tin Roof Monogram & Gift for their annual Christmas in July event with HUGE markdowns! They’ll even have a permanent jewelry pop-up on Thursday, July 13th from 4 PM - 6 PM.

Cookie Decorating Workshop at Plume // Thursday, July 13th

This 2 hour workshop will be led by Laurel Harlan from Kiss Me Cookies where she’ll be teaching you all the tips and tricks of sugar cookie decorating with royal icing! You’ll create 4 large sugar cookies to take home and share with your loved ones along with all the skills needed to decorate your own cookies at home.

The workshop is $69 / person and includes all the materials, supplies, cupcake & beverage, PLUS you’ll receive $10 in Plume Store Credit that’s good towards any purchase made the day of your workshop!

Summer 2023 with Columbia Culinary Tours in The District // Saturday, July 15th

Spend an afternoon out on the town enjoying food and drink samples from some of The District’s best restaurants! This 2½ hour tour is full of food, fun and a little bit of Columbia’s rich history. Walk around The District with the fantastic tour guides who will share interesting facts about the history of the area. You’ll stop at some great restaurants, shops and eateries along the way, sampling the best food and beverages around. Have fun with friends or meet new ones in this public tour - either way, you won’t want to miss out on this one-of-a-kind social and culinary experience!

The 2023 Boone County Fair // Tuesday, July 18th - Saturday, July 22nd

Join in the fun at The Boone County Fair! Admission to the fair includes:

  • all livestock shows & youth arts displays

  • Pirates of the Colombian Caribbean show

  • Majestik Specatular Circus Show

  • Dangerous Feats of Comedy Show

  • FOUR Free Bounce Houses

  • Free Face Painting

Community Involvement Fair for Youth at Albert Oakland Park // Friday, July 21st

Join in for a fun evening to learn about local organizations who have volunteer opportunities for youth! Volunteering is a great way for youth to develop personal and professional skills - and contributes to positive mental health - which is what Flourish Youth MOVE is all about.

Along with tables showcasing organizations’ volunteer opportunities for youth, there will be food, music, lawn games AND they will be collecting items for a basic needs supply drive that will benefit The Food Bank!

Sunday FunDay on the Loop // Sunday, July 23rd

The Loop is kicking off their Summer Sunday Funday Series (formerly STEAM Bus Brunch) at the Community Pop Up Lot with “What A Bookworm!” featuring Boone County Library Children’s Book Mobile! Plus The STEAM Bus will be there with activities to enhance hands on learning! Read, check out books, start summer reading programs and participate in activities on both buses!

Biscuit Center and Crazy Good Burritos will be there too for all your breakfast needs!

Toddler Time! at Speckled Frog Toys & Books // Wednesday, July 26th

Need to get out of the house with your toddler? Check out Toddler Time at Speckled Frog Toys & Books! Every Wednesday they have an activity catered to their 12 months to 36 months old friends! Socialize with other bigs and support the littles while they explore and learn.

Summer Jam at Pierpont General Store // Friday, July 28th - Sunday, July 30th

Join our friends at Pierpont General Store for an epic weekend full of live music, food trucks, shaved ice and more!

Countdown to Kickoff 2023 at Midway Golf & Games // Saturday, July 29th

Get ready football fans! Countdown to Kickoff, presented by Columbia Safety & Supply, is coming earlier this year. Join in the fun at Midway Golf, Games and Events for this special fundraiser and to celebrate the grand opening of the new Toptracer facility. The evening will include hors d’oeuvres from the new 44 Tavern, a live auction, and a fireside chat with Coach Drinkwitz as he gives his analysis of the Tigers’ upcoming season.
